Puppy Update
June-12-2009
It's been over a week since the puppies were born to Annie here, and despite our best efforts, we did loose the little guy who had to be assisted at delivery - all other puppies are doing fine and growing like weeds - they look purebred, but it's anyone's guess at this stage. Annie came into the shelter with a male basset companion - who was adopted. We only saw photo's but he was cute and definitely a basset.
After almost a year of relocation, surgery and a job change, A volunteer was back for the weekend to volunteer on the day they were born, so in honor of all of her help over the years, we have dubbed this litter "The Kiss Litter" Fat and sassy, these pups birthdate is 5/22/09 and so far the names we have are:
*Hershey Kiss (the brown/red girl)
*Candy Kiss (the open tri with a heart on her butt)
*Andy Kiss (one boy - tri, back is all black with a small dot at this moment in time)
Still have -2- left to name!!! We have 4 girls (3 tris and one red & white) and one boy!!

Kittens Invade Daphneyland
Apr-21-2009
During our annual property clearance to prepare for the summer season in the mountains of California, one of our weed whacking team, Danny Queenen suddenly gave a shout. Kittens!! Now what are a litter of kittens doing hiding under debris? A feral kitty obviously stashed them there!
The Kitty Wrangling was on. By employing ingenuity, the assistance of Danny Queenen, Jordyn Queenen, Sherry Simke, Linda Rios and Dawn Smith, 5 kittens were found. These kittens are being handled and acclimated and are awaiting spay & neuter and will then be looking for wonderful forever adoption homes. From weeds to wonder. Wow-wow is hound acclilmating the kitties - good with hounds these kittens are certainly treasures!
Duke makes it safely to Buffalo NY
Apr-13-2009

Our adorable Duke flew off from LAX on Friday to his forever home with Don & Shelly Gordon in Buffalo NY - it's always hard when one of our hounds finds a fabulous family who are a distance from Daphneyland - as we know we may never get to cuddle that hound - see them at fundraisers or events, visit with them..... but the joy of seeing updated photos of that hound being worshipped as hounds are truly meant to be - is reward enough. Duke's homecoming photos are wonderful and we hope to get them posted on the message boards under his adoption story shortly!
